Dyno Calibration

Using our dyno cell we can set up your car, but what does this mean?

We have an acoustically treated sealed cell with air feed in, exhaust fumes extract and separate heat extract, with the ability to balance air flow to match atmospheric pressure. The dyno cell incorporates our Dyno Developments 1200 wheel horse power rolling road dynamometer. This is used to simulate load while driving and using this we can determine the correct fuel/air mixture for your engine and the correct angle of ignition timing all the way through the RPM and load range.

To assist in achieving this, the exhaust gas is monitored in lambda using either a sample pipe or a sensor in a boss in the exhaust if available. The ignition is checked with our digital timing light and monitored while running, using our audible knock detection system. While your car is on the rolling road it will be secured correctly and kept cool at all times using our high pressure three phase fan.

Carburettors

Setting up your carburettors optimises fuel economy, performance and is very important for the health of your engine. We stock a large number of jets and parts for Weber and SU carbs. The ignition system is monitored using our 4-channel oscilloscope, meaning we can see voltage traces of the primary ignition and secondary ignition systems and using this we can diagnose any faults.

Diagnostics

Using our rolling road we can simulate loaded driving and this is very useful for diagnosing faults with your engine, including such things as misfire under load or a flat spot at a certain RPM.

4 Wheel Alignment

Using our John Bean V2280 camera alignment system we can ensure your vehicle is perfectly aligned. Four-wheel alignment is very important for the vehicle to drive/handle correctly and also wear the tyres in an even manner. We offer wheel alignment on road cars which may need suspension parts replacing and realigning to manufacturers specification and road cars which may have been in a collision and knocked out the alignment. With our experience in motor sport, we can also set up race cars for road or circuit use

Corner Weighting

The alignment of race cars is crucial to performance on track and alongside the wheel alignment we also use our digital corner weighing scales to correctly balance the vehicle, including axle balancing, cross corner balancing or other balancing, depending on the application.

Engine rebuilding

We offer an engine building and rebuilding service. This might be rebuilding due to engine failure, performance upgrades, race engine refresh or just for peace of mind. Cleanliness when building engines is critical and all the parts go through our hot parts wash and directly into our dedicated engine assembly clean room. Engines which are fitted into your car by us will be run-in under load on the rolling road, tuned and handed back to the customer ready to drive.

Injector Flow Testing and cleaning

We offer petrol ported injection flow testing, ultrasonic cleaning and servicing. This is done using our ASNU Junior injector tester and ultrasonic bath. We stock filter baskets, pintle caps, o rings and lots more therefore we can offer a fast turn around on injectors posted to us. Injector servicing is very important, a faulty injector or lower flowing injector can lead to very serious and expensive engine failures.
